Worksted vs Tradify

Both run the job from the first call to the invoice. The difference is what a person costs, and how much of the product is behind the next tier up.

Costed on Tradify Lite — their cheapest plan, which is the most favourable comparison to them — the tiers a business usually ends up on are dearer.

Read the tiers, not just the entry price. Timesheets and job costing start on Pro; purchase orders and AI bill reading are on Plus, at $62 a head. Every one of those is on both of our plans, so the number to compare against ours is usually the one at the bottom of their ladder rather than the top.

Where the difference comes from.

Price is the first thing you see and the least interesting thing on this page. These are the parts that are built differently.

The whole product is on both plans

Timesheets, job costing and margins, purchase orders, AI receipt reading, compliance and approvals are in the box on Pro and on Business. There is no tier that unlocks the part of the job you were always going to need, and no per-module pricing to grow into.

Job costing & margins

Sign-off is machinery, not a habit

The person doing the work submits the quote, the purchase order, the receipt or the week. Someone with the authority approves it, and until they do it cannot go out. You decide what needs a check — by document, by role, by dollar value — and the rule holds itself.

The invoice is built to be an Australian tax invoice

The words Tax Invoice, your ABN, GST on its own line, and BSB and account for payment — assembled at issue and frozen there. Put your rates up tomorrow and last quarter’s invoices stay exactly as you sent them, because every line copied your price book the moment it was raised.

Invoicing & getting paid

Purchase orders and receipts are a field action

A supplier receipt is photographed at the counter, read by AI, matched to the job and reconciled into the cost ledger — so the margin on the job is something you look up rather than work out. It saves with no signal and syncs when there is some.

Purchase orders & receipts

A dash means the capability was not listed on the Tradify pages we read on 29 July 2026 — not that it cannot be done. Every claim in the Tradify column is numbered to the page it came from, below.

Who Tradify suits

Tradify is a mature, well-run product, and there are businesses it answers better than we do. If you are a handful of people rather than a crew, the per-head gap is small in dollars — and three things it has are things we do not.

  • Getting paid on the spot: online and credit card payments are on every Tradify plan.1

  • A wider accounting choice: Tradify syncs with Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks Online on every plan, so a business already on MYOB is not choosing between its books and its job software.1

  • Lead capture in the same tool: a branded enquiry form and email inbox from Pro, and an Instant Website add-on at $19 a month.1
